We will be hosting an evening reception on Oct. 26 from 6:30 - 8:30pm: Join us at the Alewife Restaurant (21 N Eutaw Street) to meet the EDF Climate Corps team, learn more about the program, and enjoy some drinks and food on us. This is even is open to all graduate students and career services staff interested in learning more about our program.
EDF Climate Corps (edfclimatecorps.org) places specially trained graduate-level students in companies, cities and universities to build the business case for energy efficiency. During the course of a 10-12 week summer engagement, EDF Climate Corps fellows analyze energy-saving opportunities and develop custom energy management strategies that cut costs and carbon emissions.
Since the program began in 2008, EDF Climate Corps fellows have uncovered energy efficiency opportunities that could:
- Cut 1.7 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, equivalent to the annual energy usage of 135,000 homes
- Avoid over 1.1 million metric tons of CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to the annual emissions of 217,000 passenger vehicles
- Save over $1.1 billion in net operational costs over the project lifetimes
